capital in tailored strategies

Special situations are our DNA. We adjust our deal flow and processes to the investor’s portfolio strategy. And we target superior returns.

PESE

PESE (“Platina Equity Solutions Europe”) is the €80m private equity fund of a family investment office, launched in 2014 with a strategy of investing in special situations.

GIRSZYN & CO was mandated as fund manager to form a dedicated team, source opportunities, conduct due diligence, process transactions and monitor active change in the investee companies.

In accordance with the investment mandate, atypical deals have been completed in robust sectors such as student and professional training (EDH, ASF, FITEC), homecare (CAP VITAL), vet clinics (UNIVET), IT research (CXP), resulting in a diversified portfolio of turnaround and buy-and-build projects. Significant value upside has been generated since inception, notably boosted by the successful transformation and sale of EDH – a group of graduate schools – whose board was chaired by GIRSZYN & CO.

GIRSZYN & CO co-invested its own capital alongside PESE in the portfolio companies.

FPPI

FPPI (“Family Platform for Private Investments”) was initiated in 2009 when an established multi-family office brought together select clients to structure and deploy capital in growth companies. FPPI differed from institutional P.E funds by offering “family capital to family companies”.

FPPI mandated GIRSZYN & CO in partnership with another independent professional chosen for his track record in Belgium, to originate and process club deals with the best practices of private equity.

A portfolio of minority stakes was built on behalf of FPPI in growing businesses with strong management teams, covering diversified sectors such as 3D printing, CAD software, energy, multimedia. The portfolio has now been divested via trade sale or IPO, delivering a global money multiple above 4x.

GIRSZYN & CO co-invested its own capital alongside FPPI in the portfolio companies.
